For your little disciple: Have you ever seen a snowflake up close? Have you ever found two snowflakes that look the same? No? God has created each snowflake unique, just like you! Like snowflakes, God created each person with their own fingerprint that is unique – even twins have different fingerprints. These fingerprints are a constant reminder that God made you special and has a special purpose for your life. The next time you see snow, look to your own fingerprint and remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
Deep Dive
YOU are unique. In case no one has told you recently, you were fearfully and wonderfully made by God. This is not just something we say to our children, but is a FACT for all humans.
Snowflakes have many meanings aside from reminding us that we are unique. Coming from water, snowflakes undergo a huge transformation process to become something that looks nothing like water anymore. This is symbolic of the transformation you undergo after receiving the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” We are no longer recognized by the world but have been given new life in the Father.
As snow gently falls, we are also reminded of the birth of Christ. Coming quietly to earth in the form of a baby, born of a virgin, the Savior of the world was given to us from Heaven much like the falling snow comes to earth from the sky.
